[Just In]: Popular Nigerian Comedian Loses Mother

Nigerian stand-up comedian and actor, Julius Agwu, has announced the passing of his mother.

Agwu shared the sad news via his 𝕏 handle on Thursday, expressing deep sorrow over the loss and praying for her peaceful rest.

He wrote: “My dearest mother has gone to be with the Lord. Mama Gee, you will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.”

The post has since drawn an outpouring of condolences from fans and fellow entertainers across social media.

In a related development, content creator Folorunsho Olayinka, popularly known as Finest, has revealed that late comedian Adetola Samad, also known as Sanku, died in a Lexus SUV that had not been fully paid for.

During a TikTok livestream on Monday, Finest—who said he served as guarantor for the vehicle purchase—explained that the 2012 Lexus RX 350 SUV was bought from an Ilorin-based car dealer for ₦25.4 million.

According to him, Sanku made an initial payment of ₦7 million on June 5, 2025, and had paid a total of ₦12.28 million before his death, leaving an outstanding balance of over ₦13 million.

The revelation has sparked sympathy from fans and fellow content creators, who continue to mourn the late comedian’s tragic passing.
