Dollar to Naira Exchange Rate Today, October 9, 2025

As of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the exchange rate for the US Dollar to the Nigerian Naira has continued to fluctuate in the parallel (black) market, also known as Aboki FX.

According to information from traders at the Lagos Bureau De Change (BDC), the Dollar is being sold at ₦1,500 and bought at ₦1,480 in the black market.

This means that anyone looking to exchange foreign currency on the street can expect to get around ₦1,480 for each Dollar when selling, and pay about ₦1,500 when buying.

However, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has repeatedly warned against using the black market for foreign exchange transactions, emphasizing that it does not officially recognize the parallel market. The apex bank advises individuals and businesses to conduct foreign exchange dealings through official banking channels.
