Fegho John Umunubo has reacted to his disengagement as Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of the Vice President.

The Presidency announced his dismissal on Monday in a statement signed by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House. The statement, which took immediate effect, also cautioned stakeholders and the public against engaging with Umunubo on behalf of the administration.

“Stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy, at home and abroad, as well as the general public are hereby notified that Fegho John Umunubo, who hitherto had served as the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy (Office of the Vice President), has been disengaged with immediate effect,” the release stated.

Although no official reason was given, the announcement followed shortly after Umunubo had reaffirmed loyalty to Vice President Kashim Shettima and called on Nigerians to support the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Reacting on Instagram, Umunubo posted a screenshot of the official release with the caption:
“It has been my honor to serve this country and the Creative Industry. Now I am free to fly.”
