Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday joined other political leaders at a stakeholders’ meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Abuja.

Atiku confirmed his attendance in a post on X, writing:

“I am currently at the stakeholders meeting of the Coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja. It’s a meeting of the Nigerian people against the oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity in the land.”

Naija Blog recalls that in July, Atiku, alongside other opposition figures including former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, ex-Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former SGF Babachir Lawal, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, jointly adopted the ADC as their new political platform.

The coalition appointed former Senate President David Mark as interim national chairman, while ex-Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola was named interim national secretary.

With the coalition gaining momentum, Atiku is widely expected to seek the ADC presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
