The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that Nigerians will once again reject opposition parties in the 2027 general election.

In a statement on Sunday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, dismissed allegations by former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, that President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party were plotting to destabilise opposition groups.

Morka accused Tambuwal and other opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, Nasir el-Rufai, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, of failing to provide credible leadership or build viable political structures.

“It is perplexing that these opposition leaders — the likes of Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Nasir el-Rufai, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi — who have occupied some of the highest political offices in our country, have failed, horridly and disgracefully, to provide leadership, purpose, direction and vitality to their parties,” Morka said.

He argued that instead of strengthening their parties, opposition figures preferred to play the “blame game” by pointing fingers at the APC for their failures.

On Tambuwal’s claim that his recent encounter with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was politically motivated, Morka said no politician is above the law.

“Resorting to emotional blackmail against the government as a device to shield himself or anyone from lawful scrutiny, investigation or prosecution for suspected heinous economic crimes will not and should not cut it as opposition sacred cows,” he stressed.

Morka maintained that the APC remains focused on governance and internal reforms, while the opposition continues to “live in denial” about the collapse of their coalition.

“With nothing of value to offer Nigerians, these opposition elements have now turned political prophets trumpeting their base wishes and 2027 predictions that only truly portend the devastating defeat that awaits them at the voting thumbs of the good Nigerian electorate,” he added.

According to him, President Bola Tinubu is determined to rebuild the foundations of the nation’s economy and reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth.
