Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has criticized former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, for what he described as inconsistency in his stance on banditry.

In a post on X on Monday, Onanuga referred to El-Rufai as “the master of ambivalence,” alleging that the ex-governor had once supported the payment of bandits to secure peace but now condemns the practice for political reasons.

“El-Rufai is the master of ambivalence. Once upon a time, he supported and led the way in paying bandits to calm them. Today, in the name of politics, he opposes it,” Onanuga wrote.

El-Rufai had recently accused both the federal and Kaduna State governments of engaging in negotiations and making payments to bandits.
