Naija Blog reports that the immediate past Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), on Wednesday, visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The visit comes barely a week after the six-month emergency rule in Rivers State ended and just days after Ibas vacated office on September 17, 2025.

Ibas was received at Aso Rock in the company of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede.

According to reports, the former administrator arrived at the State House around 6 p.m. and was ushered into a closed-door meeting with President Tinubu by Edun and Olukoyede.

Although details of the discussion were not disclosed as of press time, a Presidency source hinted that the talks were connected to Ibas’ management of state affairs during the emergency period.

The meeting comes just three days after Ibas rejected attempts by the Rivers State House of Assembly to probe expenditures during his six-month tenure.

During its first sitting after the return of democracy in the state, the Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, resolved to scrutinise spending from the consolidated revenue fund, including contract awards and other financial decisions taken under Ibas.
