Meyerton, Gauteng – A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of six family members who were returning home from a funeral in KwaZulu-Natal.
The fatal collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. on the R42 Meyerton–Heidelberg Road, when a white Ford Focus sedan collided with a truck. All occupants of the car were declared dead at the scene.

All were residents of Unitaspark, Vereeniging, and were reportedly returning from a family funeral in KwaZulu-Natal when the crash occurred.

The tragedy has deeply affected the community. Local leaders and residents are calling for urgent safety improvements on the R42, a road known for frequent and often fatal accidents.
A joint funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19, drawing mourners from across the region. Family, friends, and community members gathered to pay their respects and support the grieving relatives.
