Dollar to Naira Black Market Exchange Rate Today, July 16, 2026

 


The United States Dollar traded at ₦1,420 for selling and ₦1,405 for buying at the Lagos parallel market, popularly known as the black market or Aboki FX, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

According to Bureau De Change (BDC) sources, the exchange rates recorded in the parallel market reflect ongoing demand for foreign exchange outside the official banking system.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official exchange rates for the day showed the naira trading within a range of:

  • Highest Rate: ₦1,384 per US Dollar
  • Lowest Rate: ₦1,379 per US Dollar

The CBN has consistently maintained that it does not recognize the parallel (black) market for foreign exchange transactions. The apex bank has advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign currency to conduct their transactions through authorized financial institutions and licensed banks.

It is important to note that foreign exchange rates may vary across different locations and Bureau De Change operators depending on market demand, supply, and transaction volumes. As such, the rates quoted in this report may differ slightly from those available at the point of exchange.
