The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reaffirmed its commitment to the Biafra self-determination struggle in a New Year message addressed to supporters across Nigeria and the diaspora.
In the statement signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group described the struggle as difficult but necessary, emphasising unity, sacrifice, and perseverance.
IPOB said its agitation is aimed at achieving freedom rooted in justice and dignity, rather than symbolic independence. The group also praised its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, describing him as a symbol of resilience.
The message concluded with a call for solidarity across ethnic and religious lines, stating that the movement’s objectives extend beyond Biafra to broader questions of justice and human dignity.
