[ALERT]: “Open the Books” — IPOB Challenges Nigerian Military to Public Inquiry on South-East Insecurity

IPOB has called for an internationally supervised public inquiry into insecurity in Nigeria’s South-East, accusing the Federal Government of avoiding transparency.

The group criticised recent military statements on security improvements, insisting that such claims should be tested through an open, judge-led investigation with international oversight.

According to IPOB, repeated refusals to approve an independent inquiry raise concerns about accountability and credibility. The group said it has formally appealed to international bodies to support the initiative.

There has been no official response from the Nigerian government or the military.
