– Lady shares terrifying encounter in viral TikTok video
– Uber driver cancelled trip, locked doors, and flashed a gun
– Good Samaritan intervened after spotting her distress
A Nigerian woman has gone viral after sharing a terrifying account of how she was almost kidnapped by an Uber driverin Lagos while heading to work in the early hours of the morning.
In a now-viral TikTok video, the lady narrated that she had left home by 4 a.m. for an important presentation at work and decided to book an Uber due to overcrowding at the bus stop.
The Ride That Turned Into a Nightmare
“I was going to work that day, I had a presentation. I left home by 4 a.m. and got to the bus stop by 5. Everyone was struggling, so I ordered Uber,” she recounted.
She said the car arrived almost immediately and she entered without hesitation, unaware that the driver had already cancelled the trip immediately after she boarded.
“I rested my body and put my phone inside my bag. I didn’t know the Uber guy had cancelled the trip.”
Locked Inside with a Gun
As she attempted to nap briefly, an uneasy feeling prompted her to stay alert. She then made a shocking discovery — the door handle was broken, and the windows were controlled only by the driver.
“There was this unrest in my spirit. I opened my eyes and saw that the door handle on my side was broken. There was no way to open it from inside. The glass too—I couldn’t wind it down.”
Moments later, the driver discreetly showed her a gun from a hidden compartment.
“He brought out a gun and placed it where I could see it, then he put it back. That’s when I knew I was in serious trouble.”
A Stranger's Smile That Saved Her Life
While stuck in traffic, she managed to get the attention of a man who had smiled at her earlier. Her tears and silent cry for help made the man suspicious, and he eventually approached the car.
“My face was already red. I was crying silently. I leaned against the driver’s side so he could see me properly.”
With the help of three other men, they smashed the windshield, opened the door, and rescued her.
“One of them used a stone to break the windshield. They opened the door. I quickly pointed to where the gun was. They found it and beat him up.”
