Dantata’s Family Begins Plans To Move Body To Saudi Arabia For Burial

The family of the late Nigerian business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has commenced efforts to transport his remains to Madinah, Saudi Arabia, in accordance with his final wish to be buried in the Holy City.

His son, Sanusi Dantata, disclosed this via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the family is working to secure necessary approvals from the Saudi authorities for the burial.

“Late Alh. Aminu Dantata’s long-term wish was to be laid to rest in the Holy Prophet’s city of Madinah,” Sanusi wrote. “Arrangements for approval from Saudi authorities to move the corpse from Abu Dhabi to Madinah are still ongoing.”

He, however, noted that if the process becomes prolonged or unsuccessful, the family will return his body to Nigeria for burial in his hometown of Kano.

“If it prolongs, the corpse will be brought back to Kano for burial,” he said, adding a prayer: “May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah-tul-Firdaws. Ameen.”

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, one of Nigeria’s most renowned industrialists and philanthropists, died at the age of 94 on Saturday, June 28, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
