A man identified as Victor Adejo of Olamaboro was rescued on Tuesday after he was spotted attempting to take his own life in Ganaja Village, Lokoja, according to local reports.

Residents say the man was discovered hanging from a rope but was brought down by passersby before fatal injuries occurred. He was reportedly conscious when taken down and was transferred to a nearby health facility for treatment. The motive for the attempt is not yet known.

Sources state the incident occurred in the Ganaja area of Lokoja and that community members intervened quickly, preventing a possible death. Police and emergency responders were said to have been informed and a formal investigation is ongoing; authorities are yet to issue an official statement.

The family of the victim has been notified, and neighbours are said to be providing support while the matter is investigated.
