A Nigerian naval officer, Seaman Olatunji Enoch, has been abducted alongside his wife and daughter by armed bandits in Kaduna State.
The victims — identified as 40-year-old Enoch, his 25-year-old wife, Margaret Olatunji, and their 13-year-old daughter, Hellen Bitrus — were kidnapped during an attack on Unguwan Mission, Kachia Local Government Area, in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, confirmed the development, stating that gunmen stormed the community and whisked the family away.
“Security agencies have since launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, with cordon-and-search operations ongoing in surrounding bushes,” Makama said, adding that the rescue mission is aimed at ensuring the victims are freed unharmed.
The incident underscores the deepening insecurity in Kaduna State, where bandit attacks and abductions have continued to terrorize rural communities despite ongoing military operations.
