The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, has died, leaving the party in deep mourning.
Family sources confirmed that Barde passed away on Tuesday in Lafia after a brief illness. He is expected to be laid to rest in his hometown, Wamba, according to Islamic rites.
The State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, described the late Barde’s death as a “huge loss” to both the party and the people of the state.
Until his death, Barde was the Deputy Chairman of the ruling APC in Nasarawa State. He had previously served as Interim Management Committee Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area under the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
