Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has denied allegations linking him to the sheltering of armed herdsmen responsible for recent killings in Benue State.

The accusation was made in a viral video by Professor Zachary Gundu, a former Pro-Chancellor of Benue State University, who claimed Governor Sule was aiding herders in taking over Tiv farmlands in Nasarawa.

Reacting through his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, Governor Sule described the claims as “baseless and unsubstantiated,” adding that he is deeply concerned about the killings in Benue but disappointed by the false allegations.

Governor Sule demanded a retraction and public apology from Prof. Gundu, warning that legal action would follow if the claims are not withdrawn.

“We challenge Prof. Gundu to provide evidence. If he fails, the governor will take legal steps,” Addra said.

The Nasarawa government restated its commitment to peace and peaceful coexistence in the region.
