Buhari to be buried today in his hometown, Daura
Katsina, Nigeria – The body of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Nigeria on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as his remains were flown in from London to the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Airport, Katsina.
The Nigerian Air Force aircraft carrying Buhari's remains touched down around noon. Immediately after landing, a solemn military ceremony was conducted, with soldiers carrying the casket draped in the Nigerian national flag.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led a federal delegation comprising governors, ministers, lawmakers, and other top officials to receive the late president’s body.
The former president's remains are scheduled to be transported to his hometown, Daura, for funeral prayers and final interment later today.

The return of Buhari’s body has sparked mixed reactions online, especially regarding how the body was conveyed.
