Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has called on Nigerians to register, collect, and protect their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).
He stressed that the PVC remains the most effective weapon against election rigging and bad leadership.
Peter Obi made the appeal in a message shared on X on Monday morning.

Obi described the PVC as “the voice of the voiceless, the shield of the weak, and the weapon of the poor,” urging citizens not to sell their votes.
According to him, politicians who buy votes are criminals in disguise, seeking only to loot the treasury once in power rather than provide schools, hospitals, and jobs.
The former Anambra governor likened vote buyers to armed robbers and kidnappers, warning that those who sell their votes trade away their future and that of their families.
He maintained that vote trading deepens poverty and robs communities of opportunities for growth and development.
Peter Obi further urged Nigerians to resist intimidation and deception during elections and instead vote for leaders with competence, character, capacity, and compassion.
“A new Nigeria is POssible,” he declared, insisting that safeguarding and wisely using the PVC is the key to reclaiming the nation’s future.
