A former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Wale Adedoyin, has sparked outrage after being caught on video threatening to kill an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Femi Onigbogi, during a political meeting.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday at the APC’s weekly general meeting in Ilesa West Local Government Area. In the viral video posted by Sahara Reporters on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), Adedoyin, a known ally of former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, could be heard issuing the threat in Yoruba.

“Tell Femi Onigbogi not to come out; he should stay inside. If he comes out, he will be killed,” Adedoyin said.

Onigbogi, a lawyer and former member of the Governing Council of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, was the target of the threat.

As of press time, efforts to reach both men for comments were unsuccessful, with multiple calls to their numbers going unanswered.

Adedoyin, who once served as Commissioner for Agriculture under Aregbesola before representing Ilesa West in the Osun Assembly, has faced accusations of anti-party activities during the 2022 governorship and 2023 general elections.
