The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has slammed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its claim that President Bola Tinubu will only serve one term in office, describing the statement as “laughable.”
Naija News reports that Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, made this known on Wednesday, saying the ADC is nothing more than “an association of serial defectors” already on political life support.
Oladejo noted that the ADC has never won elections at the national level and has no credibility to speak on Tinubu’s tenure.
According to him, “Their claim that President Tinubu will be a one-term President is nothing but idle talk from a party that has never tasted power at the center and is unlikely to do so in this lifetime. It is rather convenient for a party with no record of winning to begin to write imaginary scripts about a leader whose political sagacity and capacity to deliver are beyond question.”
The Lagos APC spokesman added that Tinubu has only just begun the “hard work of resetting Nigeria on the path of growth,” stressing that the results of recent by-elections where APC emerged victorious show the people’s confidence in his leadership.
He further mocked the ADC, saying:
“Clearly, the ADC will do better in a circus arena than on the political rostrum. No amount of idle chatter from the ADC can derail the mandate of President Tinubu. Their so-called prophecy of a one-term presidency is nothing but wishful thinking from a party whose best days are behind it – if it ever had any.”
Naija News recalls that the ADC had earlier declared that Nigerians would reject Tinubu beyond 2027, insisting he would not last more than one term in office.
