Member representing Agege Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Wale Ahmed, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term is already guaranteed, urging opposition parties to abandon plans of unseating him in 2027.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ briefing on Monday at the Agege Local Government Secretariat, Ahmed said it would only be fair for Tinubu, from the South, to serve two full terms just like his predecessor, the late Muhammadu Buhari, from the North.

According to him:

“Late President Muhammadu Buhari, from the North, served two terms, so Tinubu should also have his second term. By God’s grace, his second term is assured. I will mobilise my constituents to ensure Tinubu is returned for another term. All his opponents should rest and allow him to have a second term.”

The lawmaker further defended Tinubu’s controversial removal of fuel subsidy, describing it as a bold step that has started yielding results for the economy.

He claimed that the administration’s “financial re-engineering” had led to:

  • An increase in Nigeria’s foreign reserves to over $40 billion,

  • A rise in foreign direct investments,

  • A reduction in inflation,

  • And the disbursement of ₦90bn in student loans.

Ahmed also pointed to major infrastructural projects including the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, and the Abuja–Kano dual carriageway rehabilitation as proof of Tinubu’s development agenda.

“Tinubu’s foreign trips are yielding Nigeria respect abroad. The Sokoto–Badagry expressway had been on paper for 40 years until this administration took it up. It will open up villages and benefit people across states,” he said.

On his own performance as lawmaker, Ahmed listed several constituency projects such as youth and women empowerment, boreholes, streetlights, food palliatives, classroom construction, skill acquisition schemes, scholarships, and medical outreaches.

The event was attended by Agege LG Chairman, Tunde Azeez; Orile-Agege Chairman, Abiodun Idowu; traditional rulers, market leaders, and community stakeholders, who praised the lawmaker for delivering dividends of democracy.
