A disturbing video has surfaced online showing a yet-to-be-identified loyalist of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf physically assaulting a young man for allegedly insulting the governor.
In the viral clip, the loyalist is seen slapping the victim multiple times while issuing threats, warning him never to utter insults against the governor again.
“Your mother, your father, you insulted Abba. Let me hear or see you around this area insulting Abba again, I will deal with you,” the assailant shouted.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with many condemning the use of violence to silence criticism. A narrator in the video recounted that the victim was beaten specifically because of his alleged remarks against the governor.
So far, neither the Kano State Government nor Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson has issued a statement addressing the incident.
