Naija Blog -- Nollywood actor Jigan Baba Oja has hit back strongly against accusations by social media influencer, Verydarkman, that he was part of an undercover WhatsApp group that was formed to nip the quest for justice in the life of late singer, Mohbad.
The controversy began when Verydarkman accused actress Iyabo Ojo of allegedly having a secret WhatsApp group of celebrities who were supposedly operating secretly to delay the pursuit of justice over Mohbad's death. Jigan Baba Oja was on his list of celebrities said to be participating in this alleged scheme.
As a response to the allegations, Jigan live streamed on TikTok in a bid to express his outrage and refuse calls to make the group's chat history public. He questioned the basis upon which the allegations were made and if he was obligated to owe the public any explanation.
"If you wish, listen to me tell you, so fine. Do I even have a right to explain it to you? No! As long as my conscience is so clear; that matters," he stated courageously.
Taking his reaction a step further, the actor uploaded a cryptic but short message on Instagram, addressing Verydarkman:
"So fast Nigerians ain't asking the evidences no more! Something you paid 20m to acquire and you cannot present it no more! Are we in the slavery era? Na leg dey torturing me not brain! We shall see until this one ends! Thank you Allah, Olujo Mimo! ????"
The exchange has brought up renewed tensions among fans and fans of the actor, with some demanding transparency and others supporting the actor's action. The death of late Mohbad continues to be an emotive topic, and demands for justice continue to reverberate across Nigeria's social media and entertainment platforms.
