Controversial social media activist and critic, VeryDarkMan, has ignited fresh tension in the Nigerian entertainment space after leaking WhatsApp chats allegedly from Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, accusing Afrobeats megastar Davido of chasing clout in the aftermath of Mohbad’s death.

The explosive revelations come amid an ongoing fallout between Iyabo Ojo and VeryDarkMan, who recently alleged that the actress privately apologized to embattled singer Naira Marley and socialite Sam Larry, both of whom were linked to Mohbad’s tragic death on September 12, 2023.

Iyabo Ojo In a series of screenshots posted by VeryDarkMan, Iyabo Ojo reportedly criticized Davido for what she described as performative activism. According to the leaked messages, the actress questioned Davido's sincerity in seeking justice for Mohbad, highlighting that the singer continued to follow Naira Marley on social media despite claiming solidarity with the late artist.

“My problem is not even the black, whatever, it’s Davido, who flew down like he claimed to fight for justice, but he still dey follow Naira Marley,” the chat read.

Iyabo Ojo, known for her vocal stance during the #JusticeForMohbad movement, allegedly expressed deep disappointment in Davido, branding him “fake love 001”—a dig at his popular “001” nickname in the Nigerian music scene.

“That means he was chasing clout. I am so disappointed… and to think he has been saying he is the only superstar who stood by Mohbad. Just fake love 001,” the leaked chat further stated.

Earlier, VeryDarkMan had released group chat screenshots featuring Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and other influential Nigerians involved in the justice campaign for the late singer. These developments have raised fresh debates about the sincerity of celebrity involvement in social causes.

Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Aloba, was a fast-rising Nigerian artist whose untimely death sparked a national outcry, prompting police investigations and widespread demand for accountability.

As reactions continue to trail the latest revelations, neither Davido nor Iyabo Ojo has made an official public statement responding to the leaked messages at the time of this report.
