Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has reacted strongly to a content creator’s false claim listing her as HIV positive.
Recall that back in 2019, Amusa publicly shared a video of herself undergoing an HIV test, which confirmed she was negative. She had encouraged her fans at the time to know their status and get tested.
However, in a new development, a content creator circulated a list of alleged HIV-positive individuals, falsely including Amusa’s name.
In a video shared via her Instagram, the visibly angry actress vowed to make an example of the content creator through legal means.
“He will be my scapegoat and serve as a lesson to others. I am not HIV positive,” she declared.
Amusa, who is a mother of one, also condemned the spread of unverified information, stating that such reckless content causes psychological harm to both the victim and their loved ones.
She emphasized her readiness to pursue legal action, warning other social media users against using people's names for cheap clout.
“Why spread things that can destroy people emotionally and mentally? I won’t let this slide,” she added.
