The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.

The announcement was made on Monday, August 4, 2025, via a statement posted on the examination body’s official handle on X (formerly Twitter). According to the update, candidates who participated in the 2025 WASSCE can now check their results online.

“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2025 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 4, 2025,” WAEC wrote.

The release comes amid increasing concerns about the state of Nigeria’s education system, with critics highlighting recent controversies involving national examination bodies. A recent viral post by activist Rinu Oduala claimed WAEC conducted exams as late as 9 p.m., drawing sharp reactions from the public.
