The naira continued to trade under pressure against the U.S. dollar in Nigeria’s parallel (black) market today. In Lagos, Bureau De Change operators quoted the dollar at approximately ₦1,518 for buying and ₦1,510 for selling—mirroring Friday’s rates.

Meanwhile, at the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) official window, the dollar is trading between ₦1,508 and ₦1,529.

Although the CBN urges the public to use only official banking channels for foreign exchange, many Nigerians still rely on the black market due to limited forex availability in formal avenues.

Today’s Exchange Rates (September 7, 2025)

  • Black Market (Aboki FX):

    • Buying: ₦1,518

    • Selling: ₦1,510

  • CBN Official Window: ₦1,508 – ₦1,529

Strong demand for the dollar, propelled by import payments, travel needs, and tuition fees abroad, continues to strain the naira.
