Fury vs Joshua: Date, Time and How to Watch the Biggest British Boxing Clash

After years of near-misses, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are finally set to meet in the ring. The two British heavyweights will clash on Friday, December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in what is being billed as the biggest fight in British boxing history.

The bout will take place on British soil and air exclusively on Netflix. It is being promoted by Ring Magazine, owned by Turki Alalshikh, in partnership with UFC president Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

Unlike most major boxing events, the fight is scheduled for a Friday night. The exact start time has not been confirmed, but promoter Eddie Hearn has indicated the main event will begin earlier than 3 a.m. BST (10 p.m. ET). An application to Cardiff Council lists a ring-walk time of around 1 a.m. BST on Saturday, December 12, with a music performance preceding the fighters’ entrances. The stadium is due to remain open until 3:30 a.m.

No world titles will be on the line. Instead, the fight is about pride, bragging rights and the claim to be the greatest British heavyweight of their generation. Both men have dominated the UK boxing scene for years and remain huge draws, even if they are past their absolute peaks and no longer sit atop every ranking.

The appetite for this matchup has never fully disappeared despite the long wait. On December 11 in Cardiff, Fury and Joshua will finally settle the debate under the lights.
