Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has joined TikTok, inviting Nigerians to follow his account for authentic information, the latest updates and exclusive content about his daily activities.

Kwankwaso announced his arrival on the video-sharing platform in a post on X on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, confirming that he would use the platform to communicate directly with his followers.

“I am on TikTok!

“I encourage you all to follow me there for authentic information, the latest updates, and exclusive contents directly related to my daily life,” he said.

The former governor also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, declaring that “Nigeria will be OK.”

Kwankwaso’s move to TikTok comes amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections, as political figures increasingly use social media platforms to engage supporters, communicate their positions and reach younger voters.

Peter Obi Vows to Jail Election Riggers if Elected President

Meanwhile, the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has vowed to prosecute and imprison individuals involved in electoral malpractice if elected President of Nigeria.

Obi made the declaration on Wednesday while addressing supporters at an NDC town hall meeting in Nasarawa State.

Responding to a question about how the party would handle attempts to manipulate the 2027 general elections, the former Anambra State governor said his party was prepared to confront those seeking to rig the polls.

“You didn’t ask about what we are going to do if people rig the election next year. Let me assure you, number one, this coming election, we will rig those who rig it,” Obi said.

He further pledged that his administration would work to eliminate electoral fraud by strengthening political parties and improving the country's electoral process.

“And let me assure you, number two, if I’m elected the President of Nigeria, nobody will rig elections in this country again because the first thing we need to do is to strengthen our parties, strengthen the process,” he stated.

Obi also called for stricter qualification requirements for individuals seeking public office, particularly regarding their educational backgrounds.

The NDC flagbearer insisted that candidates should provide clear and verifiable evidence of their primary and secondary education as part of efforts to promote accountability and credibility in public office.

His comments come as political parties and aspirants intensify preparations for the 2027 elections, with electoral integrity, candidate qualifications and the credibility of the voting process emerging as major issues in the political debate.
