Social media influencer Kamar Williams, one-half of the popular content creation duo 80KTwins, has contacted his family after nearly 48 hours of silence that sparked widespread concern across social media.
Williams' disappearance had prompted an emotional appeal from his twin brother, Kiyel Williams, who revealed that Kamar had left their family home in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 14 without informing anyone of his whereabouts.
However, in a statement released on July 17, the family confirmed that Kamar had reached out and assured them that he was safe.
According to the statement, Williams explained that he intentionally stepped away from social media and his usual environment because he needed time alone to focus on his mental and emotional well-being.
The influencer said he had been struggling with anxiety and wanted space to reflect on his identity, future and personal direction.
"It is sometimes difficult to reflect on yourself and understand your own identity, especially when you have a twin around all the time," Williams said.
He also apologised for the panic and anxiety his disappearance caused among family members, friends and fans.
"I never intended to scare anyone. I'm sorry for frightening the people who care about me."

Williams expressed gratitude to supporters, bloggers and media organisations that helped spread awareness about his disappearance.
He revealed that his publicist had connected him with an organisation that could provide professional support as he works through his challenges.
"I need a few more days of solitude to clear my head. I appreciate your love, support and patience," he added.
The influencer also expressed hope that the difficult period would soon pass as he continues to focus on his recovery.
