The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday formally confirmed Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
The announcement was made during a high-level APC stakeholders' meeting held in Abuja, attended by members of the party's National Working Committee (NWC), led by the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
Also present at the meeting were members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), chaired by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, alongside other senior party leaders.
President Tinubu's Special Adviser on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, officially presented the nomination forms of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima as the APC's presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2027 general election.
During the formal presentation ceremony, Masari handed over the nomination forms to the APC leadership, with the documents received by the party's National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on behalf of the ruling party.
The development officially reaffirms the Tinubu-Shettima ticket as the APC's choice ahead of the 2027 presidential election, setting the stage for the party's campaign as preparations for the polls gather momentum.
