The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently battling a fire outbreak at the Bono Energy Terminal located in the Coconut area of Apapa, Lagos State.
The incident was confirmed on Friday by the agency’s spokesperson, Shakiru Amodu, in a brief statement to journalists.
Emergency Responders On Ground
According to Amodu, fire personnel have been deployed to the scene and are actively working to contain the blaze along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway.
“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow,” he said.
Cause Yet To Be Determined
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had not yet been ascertained.
Emergency operations are ongoing to prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining facilities in the densely industrial area of Apapa, one of Lagos’ key commercial and logistics hubs.
