The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to introduce new measures aimed at making the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process more secure and transparent. The board says the changes are designed to reduce registration errors, prevent fraud, and improve the overall experience for candidates.
According to JAMB, the updated procedures will include stricter identity verification and improved digital systems to ensure that only eligible candidates are registered. The board also encouraged prospective candidates to begin preparing their required documents early and to use only accredited CBT centres during registration.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the planned improvements, saying they could help reduce cases of impersonation, multiple registrations, and other forms of examination malpractice. Parents and students have also been advised to ignore unofficial agents who promise shortcuts or guaranteed admission.
