The Oyo State Police Command has rescued two children who were abducted by a suspected inter-state kidnapping syndicate operating across multiple states.
According to the police, the successful operation followed intelligence-led investigations that led officers to the suspects’ hideout. The children were rescued unharmed, while members of the gang were arrested during the operation.
Police authorities disclosed that the suspects are believed to be part of a wider criminal network involved in child abduction and trafficking across state borders. The victims have since been reunited with their families after receiving necessary care.
The Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved in the operation and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes in Oyo State. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The arrested suspects are expected to face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate still at large.
