Polaris Bank Fire Update: No Deaths, No Injuries Recorded as Authorities Restore Normalcy

No deaths. No injuries. Fire extinguished. Investigation ongoing.

Fresh updates have confirmed that no lives were lost and no injuries were recorded in the fire incident that occurred at the Polaris Bank building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

The fire, which caused panic among residents, workers, and business owners on Thursday, has now been successfully extinguished by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. Authorities confirmed that the blaze originated from a customer’s vehicle parked on the third floor of the building’s parking facility. Swift intervention by firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the 17-storey structure.

Polaris Bank has also dismissed viral reports circulating on social media claiming that dozens of people died in the incident. According to the bank, there were no casualties or fatalities, and all staff, customers, and occupants of the building were safely evacuated.

Officials stated that the only significant damage recorded was to the affected vehicle and its immediate surroundings, while normal activities have gradually resumed around the area. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire.

The incident initially sparked widespread concern online, with several unverified reports alleging deaths and injuries. However, official statements from emergency responders and Polaris Bank have now confirmed that those reports were false.

Residents and members of the public have been advised to rely on verified information from credible news sources and official channels as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
