A nine-year-old boy, Victor Oluwatobi Olaosebikan, who was abducted by gunmen in Idogun, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, has regained his freedom after spending three weeks in captivity. Residents of the community reportedly celebrated his safe return on Sunday following weeks of uncertainty and anxiety.
The boy, who is the son of a local pastor, was kidnapped on June 5, 2026, when armed assailants invaded Ugbosi Quarters in Idogun during a midnight attack. The attackers reportedly fired gunshots to create panic before abducting the child and fleeing the area.
Security agencies, working alongside local security outfits, launched a search-and-rescue operation following the incident. Ondo State authorities have confirmed the boy’s release and commended the efforts of security personnel involved in securing his freedom.
The circumstances surrounding his release have not been fully disclosed, but the development has brought relief to his family and the Idogun community, which had been deeply affected by the abduction.
