Governor Dapo Abiodun has declared that Ogun State is on track to become one of Nigeria’s oil-producing states, revealing that drilling activities have already commenced in Eba, a community within the state.
Speaking on the development, the governor stated: “Under my watch, Ogun State will become oil producing. As we speak, drilling activities have commenced in Eba, Ogun State.”
According to Abiodun, the ongoing exploration and drilling efforts represent a major step toward unlocking the state’s natural resource potential and boosting economic growth. He expressed optimism that successful oil production would create jobs, attract investment, and increase revenue generation for Ogun State.
The governor’s announcement comes amid growing efforts by state governments across Nigeria to diversify their economies and harness local resources for development.
