Alleged Electoral Intimidation Reported at Enugu North By-Election

Reports have emerged from the ongoing Enugu North by-election involving an alleged attempt at voter intimidation, raising fresh concerns about electoral conduct in the area.

According to a circulating account, an unidentified individual—described as a suspected thug—was heard making a phone call in which he allegedly stated that anyone not supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) should not be allowed to vote in the polling area.

The alleged statement, which has not yet been independently verified, has sparked reactions online and renewed calls for strict enforcement of electoral laws and security presence at polling units.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or security agencies regarding the incident.

Authorities are expected to investigate any reports of intimidation or voter suppression, as elections continue across the constituency.
