TheNational Association of Nigerian Traders(NANTS), in collaboration with theGerman International Development Agency(GIZ), has launched a new initiative aimed at supporting Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) operators across six states in Nigeria to expand into international markets.
The programme targets SMEs located in Lagos State, Ogun State, Edo State, Niger State, Plateau State, and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to support selected SMEs with the tools and guidance needed to seamlessly export their products and commodities across borders, particularly under the provisions of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. The programme also aligns with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s efforts to increase non-oil exports and strengthen regional trade.
Selected SMEs will benefit from several key areas of support, including capacity building and technical assistance, improvement of product development, quality, packaging and standards, as well as guidance on certification and regulatory compliance.
Other benefits include branding and market readiness support, assistance with customs clearance procedures, linkages to national and international markets, and exposure to funding opportunities for exceptionally performing SMEs.
NANTS urged SME owners and managers whose businesses have export potential or aspirations to access international markets to apply for the programme.
Interested applicants in the eligible states are required to complete the questionnaire through the link below:
The organisers noted that all responses submitted will be treated confidentially and used strictly for assessment purposes. They also emphasized that completing the form does not automatically guarantee selection but will help ensure fair consideration during the evaluation process.
