President Bola Tinubu, through his Renewed Hope Agenda, on Tuesday unveiled a free JAMB registration scheme for 50,000 students across the Southeast region, aimed at boosting educational access and youth empowerment.
The initiative will cover 10,000 students from each Southeast state, providing ₦8,500 per candidate to register for the 2027 JAMB examination.
The programme was launched in Enugu by Belusochukwu Enwerem, National Coordinator of the Southeast Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA). Enwerem described the initiative as a “movement of hope” and a commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not limit students’ futures.
“Today is not just a ceremony. Today is a movement—a movement of hope, empowerment, and a declaration that the future of Enugu State will not be limited by financial barriers,” Enwerem said.
He emphasized that education is the backbone of sustainable development and called the initiative “a strategic investment in 10,000 future doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders.”
Enwerem assured parents and guardians that the programme is designed to ease financial burdens while strengthening the nation’s human capital. He urged beneficiaries to approach the opportunity with discipline, determination, and excellence in preparation for their exams.
“This programme is not charity; it is strategic empowerment. When we educate our youths, we secure our economy. When we empower our students, we strengthen our nation,” he added.
The free JAMB registration is part of Tinubu’s broader agenda to ensure youth inclusion, educational access, and economic empowerment in Nigeria’s Southeast region.
