The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man, Samuel Eze, after he was allegedly caught in possession of a severed human breast.
According to a statement issued by the Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Eze was apprehended on Saturday, July 6, 2025, by a joint security patrol team of police officers and vigilantes in Awada, Obosi.
“The Joint Security Team comprising Police attached to the Awada Police Station and Anambra Vigilante Operatives on patrol along Jude Onyekwere Street, Awada, Obosi, arrested a male suspect, Samuel Eze, aged 25, with a woman’s breast,” the police spokesperson said.
The severed body part was reportedly recovered at the scene and deposited in a morgue for preservation while the suspect remains in custody for interrogation and further investigation.
In another operation, officers of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) rescued a kidnapped truck driver and recovered goods worth ₦9.5 million. Acting on credible intelligence, police traced the truck, loaded with custard powder, which had been diverted from its original route to Enugwu Ukwu in Anambra State.
The suspects — Udegenyi Ugochukwu (38), Anayochukwu Okonkwo (47), and Good Odigili (47) — allegedly kidnapped the driver, tied him up in a bush, and attempted to steal the goods originally meant for a warehouse in Asaba, Delta State.
Meanwhile, a suspected stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle, bearing registration number 736 JP and marked with “Forum of Accountants Delta State,” was also recovered by police during a patrol in Obosi on July 5.
Ikenga urged anyone with valid proof of ownership for the recovered vehicle to contact the police for verification and collection.
He assured the public that the Command remains committed to public safety through ongoing joint patrols involving the Police, Military, Civil Defence, DSS, Immigration Service, and Anambra Vigilante Group.
