[JUST IN]: Fidelity Bank Renovates School in Anambra, Boosts Education and Youth Empowerment

Fidelity Bank Plc
has reaffirmed its commitment to quality education and youth empowerment by renovating the administrative building of Community Secondary School, Enugwuabo Ufuma, in Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

The one-storey administrative block underwent comprehensive renovation under the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, addressing infrastructural challenges faced by the school. The newly renovated facility was formally handed over at a ceremony attended by government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

At the handover, Dr. Nosa Orumwense, Regional Bank Head, Fidelity Bank Plc Awka, said the project demonstrates the bank’s long-standing investment in education as a tool for sustainable development.

“For us at Fidelity Bank, this project represents more than a building. It represents opportunity, progress, and a shared commitment to building a better future for our youths here in Enugwuabo Ufuma and beyond,” he said.

Dr. Orumwense added that improving educational infrastructure provides students and teachers with an environment that promotes learning, discipline, and pride.

Also speaking at the event, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Anambra State Commissioner for Education, representing Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo, described the intervention as a true demonstration of corporate social responsibility.

“Corporate social responsibility is what gives an organisation its human nature. What Fidelity Bank has done reflects compassion and a genuine commitment to touching lives,” she said.

Professor Chuma-Udeh noted that the school was previously on an emergency list due to the poor condition of its buildings and expressed gratitude to Fidelity Bank for the transformation, which she said ensures the safety of students and teachers.

The renovation is part of Fidelity Bank’s broader CSR strategy aimed at empowering communities, strengthening educational institutions, and creating long-term socio-economic value across Nigeria.

Ranked among Nigeria’s top banks, Fidelity Bank Plc serves over 9.1 million customers through its 255 business offices in Nigeria and its UK subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited. The bank has received multiple awards, including the 2024 Excellence in Digital Transformation & MSME Banking Award, Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application, and Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria.

The project at Community Secondary School, Enugwuabo Ufuma, highlights the bank’s dedication to education and community development, leaving a lasting impact on students and the wider community.
