[JUST IN]: PDP Suffers Fresh Blow as Delta Activist Wong Box Nigeria Resigns Membership

A prominent grassroots activist and political mobilizer, Comrade Victor Ojei, popularly known as Wong Box Nigeria, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, citing loss of internal democracy and abandonment of the party’s founding ideals.

In a strongly worded resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of Ward 5 in Ubulu-uku, Comrade Ojei said his decision followed deep reflection, consultations with supporters, and growing concerns over the political direction of the party.

According to him, he joined the PDP with hopes that it would remain a platform for justice, equity, youth inclusion, and people-oriented governance. However, he lamented that the party has gradually drifted away from these ideals.

“The voices of the masses, especially the youths and grassroots comrades who risk everything for the struggle, are increasingly ignored,” he stated, adding that internal democracy has been weakened while elite interests now dominate decision-making.

The activist emphasized that his resignation was not driven by bitterness but by conviction, describing it as “an act of truth” rather than betrayal. He stressed that his exit from the PDP does not mark the end of his activism but the beginning of a new chapter in his struggle for social justice and accountability.

Comrade Ojei further declared that his loyalty has always been to the people rather than to political structures, noting that no party owns the conscience of the masses.

“No structure is bigger than the people. History will always remember those who chose courage over comfort,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to standing with the oppressed and continuing grassroots mobilization across Delta State and Nigeria at large, regardless of political platforms.

The resignation letter was also copied to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party and the media.

As of the time of filing this report, the PDP leadership in Delta State has not issued an official response to the development.
