The Lagos Royal Family of the late Chief (Prince) Abdul Lasisi Ajayi Ojora has formally announced the passing of Adekunle Ojora, the Olori-ebi of the Ojora Royal Family and revered traditional titleholder widely known as the Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ife.

In a statement released by the family, the highly respected royal patriarch was said to have “joined his ancestors in the early hours of Wednesday, January 28, 2026.”

Born on June 13, 1932, Otunba Ojora lived a distinguished life marked by service, heritage, and leadership. He held several eminent titles, including Chief Olori Omoba of Lagos, Head of the Oba Ologunkutere & Oba Adele Ajosun Royal Family, Head of the Ojora Royal Family, and Head of the Aiyeomosan Chieftaincy Family of Lagos.

Throughout his lifetime, he was celebrated for his deep commitment to Yoruba tradition, royal lineage, and community leadership, earning him national honours and widespread respect across Nigeria and beyond.

The family disclosed that burial arrangements will be announced in due course.

They also released his Oríkì, paying tribute to his ancestry and enduring legacy:

“Omo Ojora Apasa, Omo kekeniju, Omo oyinbo Dudu ni ita iganmu, Omo afomo loko toun ti ele die, Omo olumokun okosho yun, Omo opayun Pade, Omo alowo loko bi oyinbo, Omo ogbe obinrin ta fi owo ra akobi… Omo olowu oduru. Sun re ooooooooo.”
