NFF Announces $5,000 Per Goal For Super Eagles At AFCON 2025 — Players Already Cash Out $10,000 (Full Details)

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will receive a cash reward of $5,000 for every goal scored at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as part of a new motivation package introduced for the team.

The incentive, first reported by ScoreNigeria, is a joint initiative of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Federal Ministry of Sports, similar to the reward structure adopted during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Eric Chelle’s men have already benefited from the policy after scoring twice in their 2–1 opening victory over Tanzania, earning $10,000 in goal bonuses. The win placed Nigeria in a strong position ahead of their crucial Group C clash against Tunisia.

The eagerly awaited match against the Carthage Eagles is scheduled for 9 pm (Nigeria time) on Saturday, with the Super Eagles aiming to book a last-16 spot with a game to spare.

Nigeria kicked off their AFCON campaign positively with a narrow win over Tanzania, while Tunisia top the group following an emphatic 3–0 victory over Uganda. The outcome sets up a high-stakes tie, as victory for either side would virtually secure qualification.

A win for Nigeria would also serve as sweet revenge, after Tunisia knocked the Super Eagles out of AFCON 2021 in the Round of 16.

The bonus scheme, officials say, is designed to boost morale, encourage attacking football, and reward goalscoring performance as the national team chases continental glory.
