Trump Holds Press Conference Doubles Down On Threat To Nigerians [VIDEO]

United States President, Donald Trump, has once again accused radical Islamists of carrying out mass killings of Christians in Nigeria, describing the situation as an “existential threat” to Christianity in the country.

In a video posted on the White House’s official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Trump claimed that “thousands and thousands” of Christians were being slaughtered, adding that the scale of the alleged violence was “horrific” and required urgent global attention.

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands and thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter,” Trump said.

The U.S. President further announced that he had invoked a legal provision to classify Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” citing what he described as systematic religious persecution.

“I am hereby making Nigeria a country of particular concern. That’s a legal definition,” Trump stated.

Trump emphasized that the figures of Christian deaths he received — “3,100 versus 4,476 worldwide” — were alarming, urging immediate action from the U.S. Congress.

“I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter and to report back to me. And I mean like immediately,” he ordered.

The former president also warned that the United States would not remain silent while “atrocities” continue in Nigeria and other countries.

“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria and numerous other countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world. The killing of Christians is not going to happen,” he declared.

This development follows Trump’s recent warning that the U.S. Department of War could be deployed to Nigeria if the alleged killings were not stopped.

Last week, Washington officially designated Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern,” a move the Nigerian government has strongly rejected, calling the claims unfounded and politically motivated.
