[Just In]: Analyst Exposes Real Reason Behind Trump’s War Threat Against Nigeria

An American political analyst Kim Iverson, has revealed the true motive behind former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threat to go to war with Islamic bandits in Nigeria, alleging that it has less to do with protecting Christians and more to do with countering China’s growing influence in Africa.

In a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), the analyst wrote:

“Why are we threatening war with Nigeria? Here’s why.”

He explained that Nigeria had become a major focal point of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) after securing $21 billion in construction financing from Chinese firms in the first half of 2025 — the highest among all recipient countries.

The revelation comes just weeks after Nigeria and China signed a landmark $3.5 billion investment agreement in late October 2025, aimed at strengthening infrastructure, energy, and manufacturing. The deal includes the construction of new solar power plantsmodernization of railway lines linking major cities, and expansion of industrial parksacross the country.

According to the analyst, these projects are pivotal to China’s global economic expansion strategy. However, a destabilized Nigeria could derail those plans — a scenario that would serve U.S. strategic interests.

“If the country is in ruins because of war in the name of ‘saving Christians,’ China can’t expand their Belt and Road,” the analyst wrote. “That’s the REAL reason we’re threatening Nigeria.”

The post has sparked widespread debate across social media, with many questioning whether Washington’s renewed interest in Nigeria’s internal security is driven by humanitarian concern or geopolitical rivalry with Beijing.
