Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has sparked controversy online after comparing Labour Party's Peter Obi to social media activist Verydarkman over the recent Benue killings.
Bwala, who spoke during an appearance on Channels Television, called out Obi for not visiting Yelwata community in Benue State, where a Fulani herdsmen attack in June left many dead and families displaced.
The aide argued that Obi lacked empathy and questioned why he had not shown support to the affected victims.
“Verydarkman has more empathy than Peter Obi,” Bwala said.
“He wasn’t a politician, yet he visited Benue. Why does Peter Obi have to wait until he becomes president before he visits people who are suffering?”

Bwala was also asked why his boss, President Bola Tinubu, hadn’t visited the grieving community. He replied that leadership comes with priorities and the president must focus on national responsibilities.
“The heft of leadership demands that the president prioritizes his affairs,” Bwala explained.
