JUST IN: “ADC drowning in confusion” – APC mocks opposition coalition

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly denied allegations by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and officials of the ruling party are plotting to destabilise Nigeria’s emerging opposition coalition.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the ADC’s accusations as “phantom lies”, insisting that the ruling party had no interest in meddling in what he called ADC’s internal leadership chaos.

“The ADC is drowning in its own confusion and needs no help from our great party to unravel,” Morka said.

The rebuttal comes after the ADC claimed that some of its state chairmen in the North-East and North-West were invited to a secret meeting with federal government officials in what the party described as an attempt to coerce and intimidate its leadership.

However, the APC dismissed the allegation, stating that the claims were vague, unsubstantiated, and devoid of any credible evidence.

“Clearly, there was no such meeting, and certainly, no one could have been coerced or intimidated at a meeting that never was,” Morka added.

He went further to describe the claim as a product of warped imaginations, accusing the ADC of using false accusations as a pretext to justify its looming collapse.

According to Morka, the Tinubu administration and the APC have no interest in interfering with a party that is, in his words, “mortally wounded by confusion” and overtaken by a Gestapo-style leadership.

“What good can possibly come out of a coalition of our country’s most inept politicians and architects of misrule, corruption, poverty and underdevelopment?” he asked.

Morka claimed that the ADC has now become a gathering of disgruntled political actors, more focused on personal vendettas and ambition than on offering any real governance strategy.

He concluded by reaffirming the APC’s focus on national development under Tinubu’s leadership:

“While the opposition wallows in self-inflicted confusion, the Tinubu administration and our great party remain undistracted and will continue to build a virile and vibrant country.”
